The experiment passed without unexpected events, however there were severe RFI so that no reliable calibration could be made. Shortly before the start we could manage to install the Lange coupler to produce two circular polarizations instead of the announced linear polarization. We are not sure if the RCP and LCP channels are not swapped. Also, we failed to install the phase cal.

Severe RFI. Experiment failure.

Effelsberg (dgraham at Thu Jun 1 20:50:03 2006) Failure : RFI

continuum and calibration are not possible in this band. Band included local digital TV station channel 65 (825MHz). We missed first two scans and recorded 3rd with crossed pol.

Westerbork (tony foley at Fri Jun 2 11:33:12 2006) Minor failures : RFI

Wb used in phased array mode. Some RFI at the lower end of the 30cm band

Noto (P. Cassaro at Fri Jun 16 19:30:31 2006) Failure : RFI

The experiment has been performed without known problems, but the presence of severe RFI in this band does not allow a reliable calibration.

This note concerns the UHF experiments only. Shortly before the first experiment we could manage to install the Lange coupler to produce two circular polarizations instead of the linear polarization announced in the block schedule. Also, we failed to install the phase cal.

Jodrell_Bank (Alastair Gunn at Tue Jun 20 09:14:12 2006) Success : PCAL

The MkII telescope was used (Jb2). During this session the Mk2 phase cal. signal was found to be too high and could not be easily reduced in strength. I therefore switched off the phas cal. signal for the entire session (for Mk2 only).
